Today I guess my recipe must be shared for my famous chili!! I will try to give as much specific amounts as I can, however please adjust to your own liking. When I cook I never ever measure. Paul is always asking me,"did you measure that so you can write it down for your cookbook?"
I have used this same recipe since I was 15 years old. I think the first time I made it my Dad was Pastoring the Plymouth Church of God. You can change the meat to any ground meat you like,( turkey, chicken, venison, or beef). So let's get cooking.
1 lb ground meat cooked and drained
1/2 sweet onion diced small
2 cloves garlic pressed or chopped
2 cans bush's chili beans mild or hot
2 cans diced petite tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 packet chili seasoning mild
Salt, pepper, chili powder to taste
In a stock pot over medium high heat cook meat, set aside. Add oil to pan and cook onions until soft. Then add garlic and reduce heat to medium. Cook for 1 min stirring constantly. Then add remaining ingredients. Let it simmer for 45 min.
Slow cooker method
Brown beef until cooked, drain and add to slow cooker. Cook onions until soft then add garlic and cook for additional minute. Add all other ingredients to slow cooker cook on low for 6 hours or high 3.
