So we did a Science Project this morning. Cooking Pie Pumpkins two ways. I left one whole with the stem cut off and then cut the other in half, scooped the seeds out for another use and cut it into pieces to fit on the bottom of the slow cooker. Poured water to cover the bottom. Set the timer on high for about 4 hours or until a knife inserts easily.
This was so easy and fun for the girls to watch and feel the inside of the pumpkin.

Once it's cooked and cooled enough to handle scoop out the flesh and blend until smooth.
I like the method of cutting it into pieces the best. You get more pumpkin out that way.
